Why I Write - The Origin of THANE & The Truth Archive

I did not plan this

I created music because there were things I could not stay silent about. My lyrics come from lived experience: witnessing harm, personal struggle, and standing beside people I love when others chose silence or self-protection over doing what was right.

It began as survival

First came the pain and outrage. I wrote because I had to: statements, appeals, documentation. Anything to make sense of what was happening, anything to push back against injustice. Later came the bitter laughter and dry humour. Not because it was funny, but because it was all I had left. That humour gave me distance to see more clearly, to separate truth from noise. The words shifted from desperation to poetry, then rhythm, then music.

Who I am

I am not a performer. I'm a quiet, ordinary guy (probably an introvert) who got tired of seeing the same toxic patterns repeat everywhere. THANE was forged from that exhaustion, from fighting dishonesty and systems that ignored evidence to protect their image. I don't want personal attention, I just want to express myself. Writing has been an outlet for me.

THANE is my public identity, a mirror, reflecting misplaced loyalty back at those who gave it to power, image, and control instead of truth. It reveals choices made to protect the wrong people while the hurt people get abandoned.

I'm not perfect, but I'll never understand how people abandon friends or family in moments that matter, or how compassion disappears behind job titles and logos.

The Truth Archive

These songs carry truth from my life but speak in layers so others can find themselves in the story too. I stay true to what happened while protecting those in my life who still need protecting. Sometimes the voice is mine, sometimes synthetic. I use whatever tools serve the words best because the message matters more than the method.

If you've lived something similar, I hope these words find you and bring the recognition that you are not alone. We all face similar struggles at some point, I am tired of the same nonsense, "same circus, just in a different tent," so I am calling it out.

To those unsettled by the lyrics

I'm not naming individuals from my personal life. I'm naming what was done, because others will relate also. If the lyrics feel uncomfortably familiar, ask yourself why in that moment, because that is not the moment to deflect, it is the moment to reflect.

To survivors and those still standing

(The ones who matter most).

If you have lived through something and felt erased, I hope you find recognition here.

You are not weak.

You are not the aftertaste of their poor decisions.

You are not alone.

Whether you write, create, listen, or simply carry your truth inside you, you are already doing something powerful.

I hope these lyrics can be a companion, an outlet, a challenge to those who fail us and

a call to stand together.

Thank you for listening.
